TFS- Camera,Lighting and Puppets Video

Here's a little behind the scenes video from my film, dealing with cameras, camera moves, lighting, and puppets.

Im curious as to how you are doing your camera move....

are you inching it along....or adjusting the lens?

I use my MIND.

Na, I inch it along, on what I believe is known a "salon stand". It's got a nice heavy base, and the ability to creep along in pretty fine increments. You can do multi- axis moves, but moves along one axis work best on it.

Leaving the lens in one angle (for example, in wide angle) and physically moving the camera in is what gives you the true multi-plane effect. If you just zoom the lens, everything in the frame gets bigger, equally (and you don't feel like you actually physically moving inward.

Great video. Thanks for sharing that info. It's always really interesting to see how certain effects are achieved. I'd love to seem more like this.
